Over the last twenty years, advances in processable materials and in controlling the process have prompted designers to view this technology as an attractive alternative to other manufacturing methods. And in more recent years, the pace of change has been especially remarkable: technological advances and new types of machines, moulds and materials have now made it possible to manufacture a very wide variety of parts, from the simplest to the most complex. Here is a survey of the many applications which can be created using this technique.
